KINDNESS T-SHIRT DESIGN ANNOUNCEMENT:
Due to an abundant amount of shares and votes, we received 1,000 votes our voting app allotted us, and so we had to end the contest early. The CKM Executives have deliberated. Our Non-Profit Organization was founded on the fundamentals of Kindness and we continue to strive to keep that attribute at the center of all our decision-making.
The CKM would like to announce that the TWO FINALISTS will both be the WINNERS of our 2017-18 Kindness T-Shirt Design Contest. We will be combining elements from each design with a Graphic Designer to come up with our official CKM 2017-18 Design. We will share the design on our May 18th Kindness Day.
We greatly appreciate the HUGE response we received for the contest! Support from the community is important.
Please keep in mind that this was our first year conducting the design contest and know that it was a learning process. We continue to strive to make the CKM better for everyone and to promote more community involvement.
Since we are a Non-Profit, please take into consideration all of our hours of hard work and talents that are given freely by individuals who believe in advocating for the cause and to bring more awareness to our schools and communities to empower ALL of our kids. In the end of all this, it’s all about the well-being of children. Please consider joining in with us and getting involved.
A BIG THANK YOU to all that entered our contest. All the participants did an excellent job. We appreciate your willingness to step up a be a “World Changer”!
The 2017-18 Annual Kindness Theme is: “Being Kind is a State of Mind” – GO IDAHO!
The CKM would like to remind you of our Kindness T-Shirt Design Contest that ends this Friday, April 21st. Please remember to submit your digital or hand-drawn entries to CommunityKindnessMovement@gmail.com.
We want to give a SHOUT OUT to the Liberty Elementary PTA for fundraising their funds for Kindness T-Shirts for the 2017-18 school year! It is that time of year again. If your school is thinking about joining us next year, we highly recommend putting together your school’s fundraising plan. We do have the new 2017-2018 fundraising packets available if needed.
HAVE A WONDERFUL KINDNESS DAY!
Go out and enjoy the BEAUTY of the EARTH!
March taught gratitude. April continues to spring forth Attitude of Gratitude towards ourselves, others, and our beautiful communities throughout the State of Idaho.
The first Earth Day was held on, April 22, 1970, and today it is celebrated in over 193 countries each year. Earth Day is on Saturday, April 22nd, 2017. April is a perfect month to teach our children the importance in conserving and beautifying our communities in which we live in.
Does your school currently have a recycling or conserving program that your students can contribute to strengthening this month? If so, perfect! If not, we highly recommend coming up with one that will help teach students the importance in giving back to the environment.
There are MANY great EARTH DAY VIDEO available on Youtube. We suggest finding one that is age appropriate for your classroom. We recommend showing them a video and introducing the Kindness Day Theme the first 10 minutes of class on Kindness Day. We highly recommend coming up with a CONSERVING CHALLENGE for the day or a plan for your classroom to conserve for the entire month of April.
Your School Librarian and/or Teachers can choose to read books during story time that relate to “Being Kind to the Earth”.

We have several bucket filling activities and ideas that your teachers or librarian can implement this month.
There are many wonderful books available to read to your students on how to promote a school of Bucket Fillers. For KINDNESS DAY, the book, “Have You Filled a Bucket Today?”, is accessible on YouTube and can be shown to your students in the classrooms on the smart boards.
